Reminder: Prayer gathering planned Saturday for Seymour teen


SEYMOUR - A Mass for Nina Poeta, 17, will be followed by a Community Prayer Gathering at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Augustine's Church, 35 Washington Ave.

Nina is battling a brain tumor.

Please join Poeta Strong for this special event. 

Refreshments will be served, and cards and notes will be available to send Nina to show her how much she is loved and supported.

Church to take part in Seymour tag sale

SEYMOUR - Great Hill United Methodist Church will participate in the Seymour Town-Wide Tag Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3. Rain date is May 10.  

In addition to the church’s tag sale table, several church members will have tables. 


Proceeds will be used to fund several of the church’s mission projects.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Nina Poeta Strong Committee will sell light lunch items.
All funds raised will go to help defray Nina Poeta's medical expenses. Nina is a Seymour High School student battling cancer.
