Bingo/Casino Trip Fundraiser

DERBY -  St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby is hosting a bingo/casino bus trip to Foxwoods Casino on Sat., Oct. 14.
 
The bus will depart the school, 14 Seymour Ave., Derby at 7:30 a.m. and return around 6:30 p.m. The trip will provide attendees plenty of time to play bingo or enjoy other games and attractions at the casino. There will also be bingo on the bus.
 
The cost is $30 per person and includes a free slots play coupon and a free food coupon that is good for the casino’s all-you-can-eat buffet. The coupons are only available to individuals 21 years and older.
 
Proceeds will support the St. Mary-St. Michael Home School Association, which supports the needs of the school.

Cyber-Bullying Program for Parents

DERBY - St. Mary - St. Michael School in Derby is sponsoring a Cyber-bullying program for parents on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the school, 14 Seymour Ave. 
 
Scott Driscoll, a renowned law enforcement official is the presenter. Driscoll has conducted forensic computer examinations for law enforcement agencies including on-line bullying, identity theft and child pornography cases. 
 
The program is free and open to the public.

Casino Bingo Trip Fundraiser

Vendors, Donations Sought for Festival of Trees

DERBY - St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby is seeking vendors and donations for its popular Festival of Trees fundraiser this November.
 
Set for Saturday, Nov. 19, the Annual Festival of Trees is attended by hundreds of parishioners from St. Mary and St. Michael Church as well as residents in the community looking for unique gifts, ornaments, wreaths and artificial trees for the holiday season. The event also features raffles, food and photos with Santa.
 
Raffle donations are also greatly appreciated. Proceeds benefit St. Mary-St. Michael School.

St. Mary-St. Michael School in Derby to honor 6 for contributions

DERBY >> Six alumni and friends who’ve made various contributions to the success of St. Mary-St. Michael School will be honored this month.
A recognition ceremony will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. March 28 at Villa Bianca in Seymour to honor Pat Knott, Helen Ploski, John Anglace, Jeff Heitman and Donna and Chris Carloni. Cost per person is $40; $350 for table of 10. Reservations can be made by March 21 by contacting Principal Linda Coppola at lcoppola@stmarystmichael.org or (203) 735-6471.
Knott, a graduate of Derby High School and Teikyo Post College, is owner of Conn-Professional Water Services. He is a member of the St. Mary Knights of Columbus Council 14611 and volunteers for the St. Mary Church Task Force and as co-chair of the St. Mary Parish Summer Festival.

Macaroni and Meatball Family Supper to benefit St. Mary-St. Michael School

DERBY >> Join Marc Garofalo and St. Michael’s Kitchen Krew at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at St. Michael Church Hall, 75 Derby Ave., for a macaroni and meatball family supper to benefit the school.

Tickets are $10 per person. Menu features family style macaroni, meatballs, salad, soda, coffee and dessert. For reservations or information, call 203-734-0005. Seating is limited for the comfort of our supporters.

Anyone interested in donating a prize for the raffle or baking for the dessert trays can either drop off at the rectory or bring it by 2 p.m. on the day of the dinner.

Enrollment for 2014-2015 school year at St. Mary-St. Michael School begins Jan. 21

DERBY >> St. Mary-St. Michael School, 14 Seymour Ave., Derby,  will begin to enroll students for the 2014-2015 school year beginning Jan. 21.

In order to be eligible for the full day kindergarten, children must be 5 years old by Dec. 31, 2014. The school offers a Pre-k Program for 3 and 4 year old children which may be full time or part time. All are invited to an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

St. Mary- St. Michael School offers the following:

School in Derby accepting registrations

DERBY - St. Mary-St. Michael School is accepting registrations for the 2014-2015 school year.  

There are openings in all grades, from pre-kindergarten through Grade 8.


To be eligible for full-day kindergarten, children must be five years of age by Jan.1, 2015.  

The school offers part-time and full time pre-kindergarten for children who are three and four years of age.  
The school also offers Before and After School Care (7 a.m.-6 p.m.).

St. Mary-St. Michael School plans Derby Dash 5K, duck race
