Free Lunch Program Offered in Ansonia






ANSONIA – Ansonia Public Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) as part of the National School Lunch Program for school year 2019-2020. Under the CEP provision, participating districts and schools provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at all times. Parents and guardians no longer are required to complete household income applications in order to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price meals at schools participating in the CEP.

All students enrolled in the following schools will receive meals through the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at no charge. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge to all students who attend the following schools: Ansonia High School, Ansonia Middle School, Prendergast School and Mead School. In addition, lunch will be provided at no charge to all students who attend Assumption School in Ansonia and St. Mary & St. Michaels School in Derby.

Charity Golf Tournament to Benefit Veterans

SEYMOUR - Seymour VFW Post 12084 will host its 3rd annual charity golf tournament on May 18 at the Oxford Greens Golf Course, in Oxford.
 
A continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., followed by an 8:30 a.m. tee-off time. A steak and chicken dinner will be served following the tournament. Cost is $125 per person, with proceeds to benefit veterans' causes.

April 14 is Citizens Engine Company #2's New England Family Breakfast to be held from 7:30 a.m.-noon at 26 Deforest St., Seymour.


Tickets are $7 for adults; $4 for children under 12. 

"Come and enjoy great food which includes: eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, coffee, and juice ... and it's all in a great, friendly atmosphere ... Hope to see you all there."

Easter Bunny to star at benefit breakfast in Oxford

Event to help needy children
Melissa Allen Gould and her son, Griffin, enjoy last year's event with the Easter Bunny.


OXFORD - Colonial Tavern in Oxford will host "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny" March 23 to benefit Connecticut Partnership for Children, a 501(c)(3) organization located in Seymour.
This is the second year the event is being held.

The cost is $5 per person, ages 3 and up. Children age 2 and under are free. Guests are asked to bring one package of new, unopened diapers or wipes per family (sizes 4 and 5 are much appreciated).  

There are no costs associated with this event and all proceeds go directly to the Connecticut Partnership for Children Diaper Bank, which serves families throughout the state. 

The event includes a family-style breakfast and beverages, as well as children's activities and an Easter egg hunt. 
There are two seatings. Doors open at 8:45 for the 9 a.m. seating and 9:45 for the 10 a.m. seating. 

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures from 9-11 a.m.
Reservations/advance ticket purchases are strongly suggested.

Greater Valley Chamber slates breakfast program


This rescheduled event presented by BlumShapiro will be held Friday at Courtyard by Marriott, 780 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton. 
Registration and breakfast, 7:30 - 8 a.m., program starts at 8 a.m.

The program features Nicholas Perna, Ph. D, Economic Advisor, Webster Bank and Anthony V. Minopoli, Senior VP & CFO, Knights of Columbus.
They will provide an insightful look into our national and state economies and the investment outlook for the new year.

General admission: $35; special member rate: $25.
