Retired Derby Police Chief-turned-Author to Discuss Latest Book May 23

DERBY - Retired Derby Police Chief turned Author, Andrew L. Cota,, will appear at a book signing Monday, May 23 at Derby Public Library, 313 Elizabeth St.


Cota, who has penned two books, his most recent one "Whitestone," will be the subject of the book discussion/signing, which begins at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Cota's other book is "Through the Lens of an Old Man." He also drew the cover art for both books. Cota's love of art also includes wood carving, with his most notable work being the carving on the Sterling Opera House on Elizabeth Street.

DERBY - Author Ed Krusiewig will be at St. Anthony's Book and Gift Shop from 1-3 p.m. Saturday to sign his book, "Seven Days of Little Miracles That Will Change Your Life."

Shelton facility to host talk, book signing

SHELTON  - Dr. Bernie Siegel of Woodbridge will discuss his new book, The Art of Healing: Uncovering Your Inner Wisdom and Potential for Self-Healing, at the Crosby Commons Happiness Club at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20.

Siegel, whose book was released in September, also will be signing books.

Novelist to speak at Ansonia Library

Note: This program has been cancelled as of Sept. 25.

ANSONIA - Dr. Mark Rubinstein, a psychiatrist turned novelist, will talk about his latest novel, Love Gone Mad, at 5:30 p.m. Oct 23 at Ansonia Library. 
Rubinstein will talk about the fine line between falling in love and madness.

He will be available for questions and will also have books for signing after his presentation. 
Rubinstein is a contributing blogger to the Huffington Post and Psychology Today. He is a psychiatrist in private practice.

Book swap slated in Seymour May 19

SEYMOUR - The  Seymour Lions Club and the Seymour Culture and Arts Commission will sponsor a Meet and Greet Book Swap from 1-3 p.m. May 19 at the Strand Theater, 165 Main St.

Bring any books you no longer want and replace them from the selection of books received. Encyclopedias will not be accepted.
 
The event will feature author Anthony Paolucci who will read from his book, "Greedy Guts."
He will be selling and signing his books as well.

Come out and meet the people from the community.
Leftover books will be donated to various organizations.

Crosby Commons resident to sign books in Shelton

SHELTON - A special book signing will be held at 3 p.m. May 10 in the lobby at Crosby Commons at Wesley Village, 580 Long Hill Ave.

Written by Doris Thorn, an 88-year-old resident of Crosby Commons, "Casting Light on the Mystery of God in You" is an inspirational work. 

It encompasses Thorn's experience and wisdom she has gathered over the decades.

The book signing is free and open to the public.

SHELTON - Crosby Commons will host a lecture and book signing with Jeffrey C. Williams, author of  "Home of Happy Dancers - The Story of Bridgeport Connecticut's Ritz Ballroom" from 1-1:45 p.m. July 10 in the Gallery at Crosby Commons.
