Future of Shelton School in Jeopardy; Fundraising Campaign Launched

SHELTON - The future of St. Joseph School is in jeopardy due to low enrollment. The goal is to increase enrollment or raise funds to offset the deficit. If you have ever spent time at SJS consider making a donation.

An anonymous alumni has agreed to match $1 for $1any donation up to $5,000. So let's start here and make 5k into 10!! This little school really is a beautiful place and a part of the history of Shelton. It deserves a chance to become what it has the potential to become! No donation too small and p.s. any SJS alumni who is reading this now: We really need a reminiscing party ASAP!! So many good times. Valley Students Give Back



SHELTON – On May 13th, a group of 4th and 5th grade students from St. Joseph’s School made a special delivery to help feed those in need in the Valley.

Students met up with a Peapod delivery truck at the Spooner House in Shelton, where they helped unload a $250 grocery donation they pieced together on behalf of Peapod’s “Kids Give Back” program.
Peapod’s “Kids Give Back Program” is designed to teach students about nutrition, shopping on a budget and how to use this knowledge to give back to local food banks.  Peapod.com, the country’s leading online grocer, challenged St. Joseph’s 4th and 5th grade classrooms to utilize a $250 donation from Peapod to create a delivery order of the most nutritious foods possible. The students used nutrition and budgeting lessons to put together a complete Peapod.com order which they delivered to the Spooner House Food Bank, located at 30 Todd Rd.
Peapod is committed to helping its neighbors in need. Moreover, Peapod is pleased to encourage the next generation to give back to the community and help instill healthy eating and budgeting lessons at an early age through their “Kids Give Back” program.

Shelton's St. Joseph School students participate in Peapod Kids Give Back Program





SHELTON >> Fourth and fifth grade students from St. Joseph School in Shelton recently participated in the Peapod Kids Give Back Program, which offers classrooms the opportunity to learn about nutrition, practice budgeting skills and understand how to make a positive impact in the local community through a special food bank donation funded by Peapod, the country’s leading online grocer.

Over the last few weeks, the students have been reading and working with the materials provided by Peapod. To conclude, Peapod gave the students the opportunity to select $250.00 worth of healthy food to be delivered to their pantry of choice, Spooner House.

On May 28, 4th and 5th grade students from St. Joseph School met with a Peapod delivery truck at Spooner House to help unload a $250 grocery item donation that they   pieced together on behalf of Peapod’s Kids Give Back program.

Peapod’s Kids Give Back Program is designed to teach students about nutrition, shopping on a budget, and how to use this knowledge to give back to local food banks.

Shredding event to benefit school

SHELTON - St. Joseph School Alumni Association is hosting a paper-shredding event to benefit St. Joseph School from 9 a.m. to noon June 16.
The rain or shine event will include an on-site paper shredding truck. St. Joseph Parish is at 430 Coram Ave.
The cost to shred documents is $10-25 per box/bag.
