World of Bats program planned at Ansonia Library

ANSONIA -The Ansonia Library children’s department will present a program from 'The Batman,'  The World of Bats, at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 5. 
Children are asked to bring a white T-shirt for an art project.

This program is part of Ansonia Library’s summer reading programs. It is free and open to children ages five and above.

Nature center to host 'bat chat'

ANSONIA - Miranda Dunbar from the biology department of Southern Connecticut State University will present a program on bats at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center.

Dunbar has studied these mysterious and important mammals of the night sky for almost a decade all over North America.
Her discussion will shed some light on our nocturnal friends including local bat species, fun facts and myths about bats, their important roles in the environment, and what can be done to conserve this threatened group of mammals.

Call 203-736-1053 to register for this free program, which is suitable for adults and school-age children. The nature center is at 10 Deerfield Road.
