Seymour Marks Veterans Day
SEYMOUR - The town and VFW Post
12084 recently held its annual Veterans Day candlelight vigil ceremony at Broad
Street Park. Local mayors and area lawmakers were on hand, while Col. Jerry
Lukowski of the CT National Guard served as guest speaker. Longtime Board of
Education member Fred Stanek served as emcee of the event, which was led by the
Seymour Middle School chorus singing “God Bless America.” Members of the Seymour police, fire and
emergency services departments presented wreaths at the various war memorials.

Seymour Police Toy Drive Benefits TEAM, Inc.
Thank you to everyone who donated at our annual Team Inc. Toys 4 Kids Toy Drive this past Saturday! Today, Chief Satkowski presented Team Inc. with a $500.00 check on behalf of the Seymour Police Department!
The final count from Saturday’s toy drive is as follows:
280 Toys
4 Bicycles
Approximately $600 in monetary donations along with 9 gift cards.

Seymour Christmas Parade Happening Sunday, Dec. 8
SEYMOUR- Mother Nature had other plans in mind last week, forcing the cancellation of the town's annual Christmas Parade, but the festivities are back on for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.
The parade, with more than 50 marching units, including bands, local scout troops, sports leagues, floats, emergency vehicles, and of course, Santa Claus, himself, will step off at 2 p.m. from the Seymour Community Center, 20 Pine St. The line of march will continue through downtown, stop at the reviewing stand on Main Street and disband at French Memorial Park.
Longtime Seymour Middle School Teacher Harvey Catlin will head the parade as this year's Grand Marshal.
