SEYMOUR - The town and VFW Post
12084 recently held its annual Veterans Day candlelight vigil ceremony at Broad
Street Park. Local mayors and area lawmakers were on hand, while Col. Jerry
Lukowski of the CT National Guard served as guest speaker. Longtime Board of
Education member Fred Stanek served as emcee of the event, which was led by the
Seymour Middle School chorus singing “God Bless America.” Members of the Seymour police, fire and
emergency services departments presented wreaths at the various war memorials.
