Valley residents are being asked to open their hearts to help neighbors.
Because food donations to the Valley Food Bank, which serves the Spooner House homeless shelter, tend to fall this time of year, a collection has been set for Saturday.
“Valley Has a Heart” will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stop & Shop stores in Ansonia, Seymour and Shelton.
Spooner House officials hope to gather enough nonperishable food to last at least two months, and collect at least $3,000.
