The Valley Arts Council has received a $6,200 grant from the state Department of Economic and Community Development.
Statewide, $3.15 million was distributed by the department’s Arts and State Historic Preservation Office.
State Rep. Linda M. Gentile, D-Ansonia, said in a press release, “It is critical to support the cultural, artistic and historic preservation organizations so that they can achieve their goals and continue to add to Connecticut’s economic vitality and quality of life.”
The grant program was designed to establish a network of local arts agencies helping to develop a culture and tourism infrastructure, the release said.
