SEYMOUR >> There’s never been anyone quite like former beloved Seymour
Middle School Principal Paul Porter, a jovial man known for his larger than life
personality, contagious laugh and philosophy that students should experience the
world not by books alone.
That’s how many of his co-workers remembered Porter, who passed away in South
Carolina last week at age 68.
Porter led the middle school for 16 years before retiring in 2004. His
passing deeply saddened the SMS family, said teacher Christine Kaszeta, who was
filled with fond memories and funny stories about the boss she was proud to call
friend.
