ANSONIA >> An underfunded pension plan affecting about 50 city
employees got a $550,000 boost from the Board of Aldermen Monday.
The pension account, which was underfunded by about $4 million, mainly
affects Board of Education employees (secretaries and custodians), according to
city officials.
Aldermen, during their monthly meeting Monday, unanimously passed a
resolution to transfer $550,000 from the city’s general reserve fund into the
city retirement plan.
