DERBY >> For the past 34 years, Pathfinder Associates Inc. has been
helping developmentally disabled adults acquire the life skills they need to
work and live in their community.
The nonprofit was founded in 1980 by Elaine Ricciardi, a mother of a
developmentally disabled child, and the late Pasquale Guliano, former Derby
police chief who was heavily involved with VARCA (Valley Association for
Retarded Children and Adults) and Special Olympics.
