SEYMOUR >> Veteran educator turned church deacon Kenneth Ewaskie has
dedicated his life to teaching, and the Board of Education recently came up with
a fitting way to thank him for his years of service to Seymour children.
The board, at its meeting last month, voted to name the media center at
Chatfield-LoPresti School after Ewaskie, who unlike many others who receive such
an honor posthumously, is alive and well.
“I was overwhelmed when I received the news from the Office of the
Superintendent,” Ewaskie said. “At first, I thought they were asking me to come
back to work. This brings back so many great memories.”
