Santa, Mrs. Claus, volunteers make season bright
Santa and Mrs. Claus (a.k.a. Patrick and Joan McCabe) greet Ailsa
Catalan, 3, right, and Yostin Catalan, four months, of Shelton at
Sunday's Master's Table Community Meal at Christ Episcopal Church in
Ansonia.
ANSONIA >> On Sunday I attended a Master's Table community meal at Christ Episcopal Church and was impressed with the caring shown by all the volunteers.
The youngest volunteer I met, Zavier Desrosiers of Ansonia, told me he will turn 9 on Thursday, and there were several senior citizens there as well as every age in between.
The volunteers deserve to be commended for giving of their time one Sunday a month to help others.
And kudos go to Jim Fedak and his wife, Janette Feltz-Fedak, who founded
the organization and have worked hard to make it a success. Jim Fedak
said the number of people they serve continues to grow.
Santa and Mrs. Claus chat with fellow volunteers Tareek Jones of Bridgeport, standing left, and John Tiberi of Shelton.
As you can see Sunday's dinner had a Christmas theme. Children and adults all received a wrapped gift from Santa.
The nonprofit is seeking volunteers for the next two dinners, slated for Jan. 26 and Feb. 23.
