Take a walk to promote breast cancer awareness

Seymour event to honor survivors, remember victims

SEYMOUR - The third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, hosted by 
First Selectman W. Kurt Miller and the employees of the Town of Seymour for Seymour Pink, Inc., will be held Oct. 14.

Check in is from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Seymour Community Center .

Opening ceremonies will be at 12:30 p.m. and the walk begins at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at Hot Tamale Mexican Grill & Bar,  39 New Haven Road.


The event to benefit Seymour Pink, Inc. asks men to walk one mile to promote breast cancer awareness, to honor those fighting, and to remember those that have passed on.

High heels encouraged, not required 
Men are encouraged to wear high heel shoes. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it is fun for a great cause! It's not a requirement to wear heels, but it is necessary to wear pink.

Participants are welcome to invite their families and friends to support them in the walk by pledging on the attached form or joining them as they walk.

All registrations include a food voucher for the reception at Hot Tamale's at the end of the walk.
Early bird registration, $25, received by Oct. 4. T-shirt is guaranteed.
Normal Registration: $30, received after Oct. 4. T-shirts are not guaranteed. Day of event registration is also available at the Community Center. All registrations are nonrefundable.
Awards will be given for Overall Best Dressed Male, Overall Best Shoes, Highest Fundraiser. Other awards to be announced.
