WALLINGFORD — James Tate stepped out of a limousine Saturday with his radiant prom date, Sonali Rodrigues, dressed in a lavender silk gown with a strap over one shoulder and high-heel silver sandals.
But Tate also was expected to have a date with local media who helped make his night at the prom possible after publicity convinced Shelton school officials to reverse a prom ban.
He stood them up at the last minute.
