DERBY — The Board of Education Tuesday unanimously adopted a $15.45 million budget for fiscal year 2012, which includes $485,894 in spending cuts.
The board met at Derby Middle School.
Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tracy proposed the cuts to conform to what the Board of Apportionment and Taxation allocated to the schools.
Tracy had originally sought a 7.2 percent increase from this year’s budget; the tax board ultimately gave the schools a 3.04 percent increase.
