SHELTON — Hundreds of painted lady butterflies will take flight Sunday in memory of Viviana Rose Cavalli, a Shelton teen who died in a car crash in 2009.
The second annual butterfly release will take place at noon at the Shelton Riverwalk off Canal Street.
Cavalli’s mother, Dee Tutka, started the Shelton Butterfly Project in memory of her 19-year-old daughter, to raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and reckless driving and the impact it has on loved ones left behind.
