DERBY — Superintendent of Schools Stephen Tracy on Wednesday unveiled nearly $486,000 in proposed budget cuts necessary to make the bottom line conform to what the city allocated.
Tracy presented the total $485,894 reduction during a Board of Education workshop. The board is slated to adopt a final budget at a meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Derby Middle School.
Tracy’s proposed cuts, as is, do not include elimination of full-day kindergarten, which many parents have continually pleaded with the board to keep.
