Fast-growing trees to replace those cut down at Derby High School

DERBY — Three fast-growing trees will be planted in Derby High School’s courtyard, replacing 40-year-old oaks that were cut down last month.
Superintendent of Schools Steve Tracy said the skyline locusts will be planted before school reopens Aug. 30. Skyline locusts can grown 40 to 50 feet. They will be 25 feet tall when planted.
