DERBY — Thanks to all who came to the first in an ongoing series of community engagement meetings with the New Haven Register’s Valley staff Thursday.
Representatives from the public, Valley United Way, Derby public schools and Derby’s Economic & Community Development office met with the Register’s Valley staff at Starbucks in Derby.
Valley United Way is concerned about hunger, so we’re writing about a fundraising dinner to benefit local food pantries.
The Valley United Way, Il Palio Restaurant in Shelton and Jones Family Farms of Shelton are organizing a wine tasting fund-raiser to benefit Harvest House IV. The Valley United Way will use funds raised to purchase food for the Harvest House, which will be distributed to Valley agencies.
Watch for coverage of your story ideas online and in print in the coming days.
Naugatuck Valley Bureau Chief Michelle Tuccitto Sullo, Reporter Patricia Villers, and Correspondent Jean Falbo-Sosnovich will be sitting down with members of the community once a month for the Valley coffee tour.
We’re buying the coffee, first-come, first-serve. Come chat with us about story ideas and topics that are important to you dealing with Derby, Shelton, Ansonia and Seymour.
The next stop on the Valley coffee tour will be in Ansonia in September. Stay tuned for details, and we look forward to seeing you there.
