ANSONIA — Firefighters responded to multiple storm-related incidents Monday evening, including a fire caused by downed wires and ceiling tiles falling at a Burger King because of a leaky roof.
Fire Chief Ron Burgess said the Burger King on Pershing Drive had about 5 inches of water on the roof, which got into the eatery and caused ceiling tiles to fall. He said no one was injured in the incident, which happened around 8 p.m.
Also Monday, firefighters responded to a blaze on a front lawn on Wakelee Avenue caused by downed electrical wires. Burgess said he had firefighters putting out the blaze and mopping up the area of Wakelee Avenue and Hull Street from after 7 to 11 p.m.
No one was injured in fire, he said.
